The location was good since it's within walking distance to the village and bay. We had a room with no view and close to the road. It was noisy during the day when people were parking and exiting their cars. The fireplace did not work and the front desk clerk didn't follow up to check to make sure it was working. For the price paid, it wasn't worth it ... even though Carmel is an expensive place for lodging and food. If you plan to stay here, avoid rooms #113 - #119.

Clean and convenient for overnight stay. Basic breakfast provide. An open air pool for guests. Extremely good location. Minutes of walk away from the Ocean Beach, the main street to the beach front and all the shops and restaurants.

Stayed here for one night on a last minute trip to Carmel. The room was super clean, spacious and decorated beautifully. Very California! Coming from the east coast I was a little concerned there was no air conditioning since I had driven down from San Jose where it was 90 degrees that day. Apparently no one in the area has a.c. But we just opened the doors and windows and it was quite cool and comfortable through the night when the temperature dropped down into the low 50's. By early morning it was even a little chilly. We stayed on the 5th floor which had amazing views and watched sunset go down over the ocean. Would definitely return again!

I have been coming to the Bay View for 30 plus years.  It is by far one of the best in Carmel.  Always clean and updated.  Rooms are very comfortable and the staff is helpful and friendly.  The breakfast is a nice amenity.  Very quiet and peaceful.

The location of the hotel was great! The person at the front desk was very friendly as well. The only issues I had were with the room. The bed did not have a blanket, and it was extremely uncomfortable. I woke up with my back hurting the next day. Also, there was no thermostat in the room so the heating could not be controlled during the night.
