Love this place. Went for my birthday after the Guggenheim on a Tuesday at 5 PM. Danielle the server was great as was her support. Same with Crystal, the hostess. Huge portions for 3 people. Shared chicken Parmesan, lasagna and garlic bread with mozzarella. Will be back next time I’m in NY! Just wish they had craft beer!Food: 5/5
You definitely need a reservation to get into this place. Unable to accommodate a walk-in the first night, we ate here on the second night of our trip to NYC. The food was great. Family style dining so 1-2 entrees can feed many. The shrimp cocktail were huge, the chicken marsala was the best I’ve ever had, and the lasagna was amazing as well. Come with an appetite. BUT… This place is NOT sensory friendly. By that I mean the LOUD volume of the music and the guests in the packed dining room’s response to the loud music in order to be heard/hear their own party…everyone was yelling. EVERYONE. So think yelling + blaring music….It was comparable to a bar. Actually, I think the bar was quieter. The volume level itself was probably more comparable to a small concert/bumpin’ bar with a live band. It was difficult to even hear our server with him crouching toward us & speaking very clearly. I really wanted to give this place five stars all around, but I really couldn’t. So while you will get delicious food with generous portions, you will also get a headache and very overstimulated. I would not bring anyone on the spectrum, or any sensory processing disorders, or anyone that overstimulates easily to this restaurant. Take a Tylenol or two before dining.
4/14/2024 Took a friend her for her birthday and we loved the the atmosphere is great the staff is wonderful and helpful its just and all around get place to eat. I will say definitely make reservations because the place is usually crowded. The servings are huge because they serve family style, which means one plate is meant to feed at least 4 ppl. We all order separate dishes and shared then of course we had more than enough to bring home for lunch or what have you.. i loved everything for the most part i ordered the meatballs they were very good i just didnt like the texture of the meat ut was like they took patte and formed a meatball but it was very good and for dessert i got the strawberry shortcake the only issue i had with that was the cake was brushed with coffee i could have done without that but they dont do too many accommodations but i will say they did bring it to me not put together because i didnt want all the whipped cream that came on it.. The cesar salad, calamari and the other items we ordered was great we will definitely be back.. The meals arent expensive for the amount of food you get per order either.. Parking: There's street parking you may luck up and find something close but most likely you will be searching for a spot so come early to allow time to search
You must have a reservation to get into this place. The dishes are family style so we ordered 2 dishes for 5 people and still had leftovers for another meal. First things first I was thankful for having vegan/veggie dishes. The house bread was excellent. The veggie cheese ravioli was appreciated by my group. The vegan Gardaniera was a bit of a let down. It has a lot of Pasta and veggies but the sauce was very watery and not enough. The service was very slow and they were not open to any customisation like cheese on the side
Too much to eat! Came for an appetizer and a drink before our show. Ate at the bar and the bartender was top notch. Had to share our calamari with others…it was fantastic.Food: 5/5
Carmine's Italian Restaurant on the Upper West Side offers an outstanding dining experience with delicious, generously portioned Italian dishes, friendly staff, and a warm ambiance. The pasta and big steak were especially memorable. Highly recommended!Food: 5/5
Fantastic restaurant! Be sure to make reservations! The Cesar salad was so good! anchovies on the side, please the stuffed mushrooms, baked clams, calamari, and cheese melted on top of delicious garlic bread, they gave us such big portions on the appetizers, we had no room left for entrées! But we did order shrimp scampi and chicken marsala for all of us to share! Next time we're going for the entrées first! ok, we will definitely be having appetizers, too! Thanks to Carmine's and their wonderful staff who worked together to get the five of us so many yummy treats! We'll be back! Located on 91st & B'way in New York city, if you're in town, go eat!! The prices are affordable, and the food is just amazing!
This was one of the best Italian food places I've ever dined at. The portions are amazingly big! The Vodka Sauce Pasta dish was delicious! The salad was tasty and fresh! The variety of included bread was mouth watering. The service was pretty good. I enjoyed my dining experience here and the location was perfect before seeing our Broadway show.
We had a great time here. Our server was super patient with us since it was our first time food was amazing, family style so be prepared to eat! Also the white sangria was amazing top 5 for me !Food: 5/5
