An easy in & out bakery. No frills just amazing cakes, pies, & cupcakes. They are very accommodating... I just wish they were closer to my home! I drove 50 minutes for cakes for an office party. Well worth it, though! I've yet to be disappointed. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options available
I used GoldBelly to get a cake from here. The cake didn't arrive on the day expected. When I called the company for a refund they said I had to deal with GoldBelly. They also said that I should not eat the cake if and when it arrived due to extreme heat. Why would they ship their product knowing it couldn't be protected from the weather. The cake finally did arrive. See picture. We followed the instructions and threw it away. Carousel Cakes says it is GoldBelly's responsibility and GoldBelly says it is Carousel Cakes responsibility. All I know is I am out $65.
Carousel Cakes are my absolute favorite! The Chocolate Mousse Cake, Blue Velvet Cake, and Chocolate Outrage Cake are the best desserts on the planet,...hands down!! Before Thanksgiving this year, I learned that they also make pies too, so I bought an Apple Crumb Pie there, as well as the 3 Cakes I mentioned above. I normally buy my pies at a farm near my home in Orange County, where the pies are made fresh with the apples grown on the farm. The pie I bought at Carousel Cakes was just as good as the homemade, farm-baked pies I normally buy, with fresh grown ingredients. Me and my family couldn't have been happier with the desserts I chose to complete our Thanksgiving meal this year. I can't wait to buy more this Christmas!
First time going was yesterday right after work to pick up 7” strawberry shortcake for my dad’s birthday. I was really excited because I heard Oprah loves some of the cakes there so was looking forward to trying. The girl who checked me out was rude and stand offish, no customer service skills whatsoever. Then when we took the cake home to eat, the entire inside was frozen. My dad actually asked if it was an ice cream cake!! They must have just have a whole stash of frozen cakes they just give away with freezer burn. Needless to say I was really disappointed in this and not sure if I’ll be going back.

Always my go to if I need a cake fast. This is an efficient run business model. They freeze the cakes for fast service and never disappoint. This time we tried the New York Blackout Cake. This is sure to not disappoint. What is amazing about this business is that they ship overnight anywhere in the U.S.A. This place was Oprah endorsed. They also sell cupcakes, cheesecakes, and pies.
This is one of the best bakeries that I've ever been to. The cakes taste nothing at all like the typical bakery cakes, which I don't like and will not eat. The cakes are very moist and flavorful, with a homemade quality that you just don't get at most bakeries. Every one that I've had is delicious, but my favorites are the Blue Velvet and the Chocolates, of which they offer several varieties. They're rich and satisfying, a small slice is enough for me. If you're going on a Saturday, beware...don't go too late in the day, they close at 1:00, nothing like getting your mouth set to taste one of these beauties and...whaaa..whaaa = CLOSED!
I purchased a 3 tier birthday cake and while the cake tasted good, I was displeased with the fact that the Rockland location makes you pick your cake up on Friday when your event is on a Saturday. I have never been to the Jersey location. My event was at 2 pm on a Saturday and I was told I had to pick my cake up the Friday before by 4:30 pm because there was no one in the bakery on a Saturday to correct any issues the cake may have. This information was not given to me the day I ordered and paid for my cake in full. I noticed that there was no pick up time info on the receipt and called to find out how early I could get my cake on Saturday. Had I known this when I ordered my cake I would not have continued with the order. My suggestion is that the Rockland location has someone available on Saturdays but if this isnt possible then the cake should be boxed by tier in a manner that the customer could store it and assemble it when ready. The cake should NOT come assembled a full day early. I was not able to store the cake in my refrigerator, because what average person can fit a 3 tier cake in their refrigerator. Due to this my cake was leaning by 2 pm on Saturday for the event. Which is RIDICULOUS after paying $400 for a cake. Imagine how disappointed we were after making it all the way home the day before with the cake being unharmed, which is a 20 min drive. Then an hour before the party the cake is leaning.
