KIlled my dog. When Carrara's people came to assess the damage to our home after a fire they were informed that we could not completely vacate the house because of our pets. The removal crews began work on Monday, January 29. As of today, Sunday, Feb 4, the work in the basement is not completed. The supervisors and were crew were specifically instructed when they began the job that all doors leading to or out of the basement were to be closed when the crews were not working and at the end of the job day, to prevent any pets from accidentally escaping. I personally closed the door leading from the basement to the fenced in backyard so that there was no way our dogs could get into the basement while the men were working. The first night they came, Monday, they closed the doors as instructed at the end of the day. On Tuesday, after leaving here, they left the garage door and the door to the basement wide open. I closed the door to the basement myself. On Wednesday, they did the same, and I, again, closed the door to the garage myself. The door from the backyard to the basement remained closed. On Thursday they gathered and bagged a pile of clothing and other objects that the firemen had thrown out into the backyard. When they finished that project they left the door from the backyard to the basement wide open. They did not advise us that they had opened that door. They then left for lunch, also leaving the door to the garage and the garage door to the street open. Unaware that the dogs could get into the basement and then out of the house, we let the dogs out for a potty break. When we went to let the dogs back in we realized they were missing. On checking the basement, all the doors were discovered open. During our attempts to locate the missing pets, we received a call letting us know that one dog had been caught by employees of a local machine shop, and the other had been hit by a car and killed. Animal Control brought Shadow, the dog that survived, and the body of Anubis, the dog that was killed, back to the house. azzz When confronted, the work crew insisted that they always made sure that the doors were closed before they left, which I know for a fact is not true. When I insisted that Carrara's people pick up my dog's body and transport it to the crematorium we have used for previous pets, they dithered over whether or not "they could do that." Eventually they arranged for the crematorium to retrieve my dog's corpse and to pay for cremation. When I asked how Carrara intended to address our loss, they brusquely responded that they were sorry for our loss and that a different crew would be sent out on Monday. I advised them that we did not want their crews returning at this time. We are utterly devastated at the loss of our pet, and the carelessness and callous attitude that has been displayed by Carrara employees. We are hurt and angry over this senseless and completely avoidable tragedy and the cavalier behaviour that has followed. Thus far, Cararra employees have caused us more damage and trauma to our home and family than the fire they were supposed to help us recover from.

Great way to obtain insurance CE courses. They are informative with personable teachers. Certainly not boring. Includes videos. Best part is they provide lunch and treats throughout. Only place I go for continuing education.
