Returning to Martial Arts in my mid 40's is very challenging. I studied Taekwondo in my late teens and early twenty's so I was able to rely on my youth to make up for the vulnerabilities of a heavy kicking style and very traditional fighting techniques. To me, the most striking difference between Taekwondo and Kenpo was the reality of the art. The techniques are fast, efficient, effective, and brutal. The head instructor, 5th Degree Mike Gurercio, is the real deal. I've never been hit harder or faster by penetrating power. I study at CCKENPO with my three kids. They love it!

I was a female with no martial arts experience trying to start as an adult. I wanted to learn self defense but was nervous about joining. Once I joined, I was so impressed with how approachable the instructors are and how quickly my self confidence grew. Carroll County Kenpo Karate teaches you REAL LIFE defense and I'm so proud to be a student of this school! Come in and see for yourself.

Most karate schools teach you karate from ancient Asia but Kenpo teaches you Karate for todays world. It is physical both to the body and the mind along with learning something that may some day save your life, real self defense. The school is large and a friendly environment. Check this school out it is by far the best in Carroll County.

Awesome! The instructors and students are more than patient and friendly! Best in Carroll County. Try it out. I never felt uncomfortable in the mma classes, even as a female.

If what you are looking for is an effective, straightforward self-defense class then this is the place for you. Coming from being a second level Krav Maga student, I can say that Kenpo, specifically Carroll County Kenpo runs circles around Krav in efficiency and effectiveness. Everybody, including both instructors and fellow students are always nice, patient, and always more than willing to help thus creating a non-abrasive, comfortable, and easy to learn atmosphere.
