Place is awesome. I was way more impressed than I thought I would be. We rented a cottage during the off season in January. They offer military discount during the winter months. So the price of the cottage was very reasonable. More than reasonable, I'd say its a downright bargin. The cottage was a 2 bed, 2 bath, full kitchen and fireplace. Fully furnished with linens and kitchen supplies. Firewood is included and restocked daily or more if needed. Excellent trails to hike. Cave tour was very informative and exciting. Kids really enjoyed the trip. One of the coolest state parks I've ever stayed at.

Carter Caves has always been a favorite place or mine to go for a day or a week. I rented a cottage and did some day hiking. It is a great place to hike , mountain bike, canoe or kayak, and there is now a climbing and rappelling area. I like to go there in the Spring and Fall best. I go there dozens of times each year.

As good as I remember it being as a kid. Went into one of the wild tours on our own. Was flooded a little but made it through. Best place to do a little exploring and not be in too much danger. Took the kids and they loved it

We had a wonderful trip to the caves. The tours are well worth the small price.   If you're in a hurry try the x cave.   We found some cool hibernating bats and some strong cave - based knowledge.  Good times
