This place was recommended for authentic mexican food in the covina area and it did not disappoint. Margaritas were good and so were the fish tacos. Very yummy. The chips and salsa was very good too Parking: The best parking is behind the building
Place is pretty small inside to dine. Nice bar great drinks. Food tastes great portions ok! Went for drinks before comedy club across the way .Food: 4/5
Worst fish tacos ever PLUS WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Dry and tasteless fish tacos and the fish tasted spoiled and NOT FRESH!!! When waiter asked manager for help, she stated that she cannot do anything and will still charge me full price with a mocking smile!!! NEVER again!!! Yuck!!! Now I feel sick. I hope I don't end up in the hospital!!! Check out Amor y Tacos instead! Or El Torito!!! They never disappoint!!!
The menu prices on the website need to be updated, my Ensalada Azteca is listed at $12.95 but it's $19.95 now. It was tasty but overdressed so it got soggy fairly quickly, it would benefit from a heartier mix of greens it says "mixed greens" but it was basically shredded iceberg with a bit of shredded carrots to keep up with the carne asada. The wet burrito would look better with some parsley garnish or something to offset the sea of red salsa it was supposed to be green salsa. The Mololitos were tasty but when the server asked if I liked chorizo I assumed it came with the dish as I did not see any options listed, nor did he mention an additional charge and it would've been better without it there was a $4 upcharge. When our food was served, one of the two dishes was not ours and it took about 10 mns to get my plate. Neither time did the female server take the empty appetizer dish, she may be new The house margarita was delicious!
Came here after looking for something good to eat and this place didn’t disappoint. The food is authentic and the atmosphere is great. Live mariachi’s playing while you eat. Service was great and the food was hot and tasty. Definitely will be back again sooner than later. I think this is my new Mexican spot.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: Yes
I’m not quite sure what to say. I’m not one to bash local businesses, but Casa Moreno was lower tiered compared to other Mexican restaurants in the area. I ordered a wet pollo burrito, which looked very appetizing but when I took my first bite I realized that the red sauce was really tomato sauce and did not taste authentic compared to other restaurants I’ve ate at. My partner ordered albondigas and it was very watered down. It only had one piece of potato and three pieces of zucchini. It is not your Mexican mom’s albondigas. However, the margaritas were fantastic and the servers were great and we were seated quickly. Maybe it might be someone else’s cup of tea but not mine.
My friend and I ordered ceviche and it took almost an hour. And mind you there were maybe like 3 other tables with folks in the restaurant. It wasn't busy. We got thirsty and it took 25 ish minutes or so for my friends' beer to arrive when there were 2 bar tenders. The only thing that was good was the chips and the salsa. You want legit Mexican food and good drinks, good service go up the road to the place next to the taco bell. That place was 110 times better. Sorry but wouldn't come back here.
We had a party of 14. Some restaurants deal with large parties inefficiently, but Casa Moreno did a good job. Our server kept my unsweetened iced tea coming. My order, and the orders of the others in our party were filled accurately and expeditiously. The chips and salsa that we got soon after our arrival included excellent chips, but weak, watery salsa. My main course, a burrito, was tasty. If you are in Covina CA and you want a Mexican meal, Casa Moreno is available.
We celebrated my mother's 90th birthday on Saturday at Casa Moreno. The service was excellent! My mom was very happy and we appreciated all the attention that they gave to the partyFood: 4/5
My mother and I came here for a after work early lunch, we order the taco plate and the beef tacos tasted bad "meat tasted sour". We told the waitress and she was going to replace it. Then the general manager comes up to my mother and proceeds to tell her that the meat isn't sour because she was eating a beef taco herself. Her approach was very rude and very stern, which was so off putting because the waitress already had the issue handled. When we explained to her that she was being rude, she still argued the fact that she wasn't. The experience totally ruined our little lunch date. I hope next time they come into a customer complaint they just listen and hear the customer out and fix the issue.
