My children and I really love this park. It is so beautiful with lots of open green grass, gorgeous landscaping, and long paths for walking. It's an excellent venue for events because it has a really nice amphitheater with a lot of seating, including a lot of open grass where people can sit if they want to. The playground area is unique and aesthetically pleasing, though not very practical and fun for kids, at least not mine. The absolute highlight of the park is the splash pad. It is so AWESOME to have around in the summertime. It is free, refreshing, and tons of fun for the kids. We also love the open paved areas around the splash pad and behind the amphitheater. My five year old likes to ride his bike there. The facilities are pretty clean everytime we go and the park in general is very well maintained. It's also a great place for rock hunting, if you're into that. The only downsides to the park are that parking can be a bit of a pain, and there's not a lot of shade in most of the park. On a really hot summer day it's not the best place to go for a walk.

Very nice place for a pleasant walk. We were pleasantly surprised to discover the base line and meridian monument for the state of Florida Public Survey System in a nice mosaic showing all the counties in Florida. Nice waterfall and a creek, and a Korean War memorial. An asset to Tallahassee for visitors and residents alike.

So far, absolutely the best and most beautiful Park in Tallahassee! Pretty amazing since that used to be a toxic waste site when I first moved to Tallahassee in 93. Not many people know that, I'm sure but easily found out on the web.

Cascades Park is in many ways a major storm water drainage project and brownfield cleanup area that is disguised as a park. Don't let this cause you to think it's not awesome because it is. It is also possibly the only 24 hour park in Tallahassee. Anyway a lot of terrific things can be said about this park but why bother. Go visit, it has features that appeal to nearly anyone.
