I want to really like this store. The staff are great and they are the reason for the 3 stars. However, I've been there several times and walked out more times without something than with something. The whiskey and beer selection isn't great and they don't use the space they have effectively. It kinda feels like a shop that is half out the door and won't buy  any more stock to fill the space.

I always enjoy browsing through this shop even if I don't specifically need anything. The staff are friendly and helpful and there are interesting tasting events. The pricing seems competitive as well.

From its unassuming exterior, I would've never imagined what a polished and sophisticated display of high quality liquors would be inside. It felt like stumbling onto a first-rate speakeasy, and I found the rare French pear liqueur I've been looking for everywhere.  With a helpful and friendly staff, what's not to love?

Great selection of Fine Artisan Liquor, best selection of Scotch in North Oakland , south Berkeley. Between Elmwood and Rockridge neighborhoods

Pretty good selection of Whiskey though if you're looking for other things like hard to find Rums you might be out of luck. They do have a few other things like Gin, and Mezcal but I found more of the offerings were limited.
