Story

The Castle sold to new owners on July 1, 2015. The kitchen was removed and a new Gaming Room, Kitchenette, & Restroom were put in March of 2016. All tables and bar tops replaced by John Boos tops. Stop by to say hello and check out the new look of this Historic Mattoon Pub!

I typically go on slow nights, Very minimal crowd,but alcohol selection is the biggest iv seen,and the staff are awesome,.

This little pub has an incredible staff, good food, great crowd, and such ambiance.

The food has always been good, although we tend to stick with burgers and salads here. Service is attentive, especially on weeknights. Place can get packed and very noisy on Friday and Saturday nights, so plan accordingly. I like the old-time atmosphere. Beware of the jukebox, though, as it can be blaring at times. It was so loud one time that we had to scram without ordering any food.
