Great park.  It is out of our way and we still frequent here.  The playgrounds are good (4 playgrounds for different age groups).  It is also a great place for riding bikes with lot of trails

CCP has dog runs, picnic locations, soccer fields, children playgrounds, aerodrome, everything that you would like to have in a park with the exception of a pool. You and your children can enjoy Tuesday movies summer program. If you are walking in the biking path you should be aware of the tick's risk, check yourself and cloths for their presence before you get into your car.

Great park clean use bike path to ride to jones beach...only thing as you enter park someone has the Confederate flag  hanging in their back yard for all to see ....Charlottesville

If you're looking for a good long path on Long Island, this is the best place I've found thus far. Riders of all levels come here, with people that look they're prepping for the Tour de France to beach cruisers. Beautiful sights of Long Island bays and beaches ok both sides of the path. Other than the bike path their are very nice recreational facilities, baseball, basketball, raquetball, etc... And expansive green spaces.

Note non Nassau county have to pay a fee ($10) during certain times of the year.

Cedar creek park is a large public park with plenty of benches for relaxing as well as several playground areas for children. It's also the gateway to the wonderful bike path along the Wantagh Parkway which feeds into the Jones Beach path along Ocean Avenue.
