Starting in 1984 as "Tribute to a Christmas Tree" this amazing exhibit of lights, music, food, drink, activities under the primal live Oaks of City Park. Because of the temperate Holiday weather, it's a pleasant and exciting walk. Very kid friendly.  Buy your tickets online! Or join the Friends of City Park. The lines can be brutal!

Fantastic Christmas light show. Train ride was the best even in the cold and rain. Staff was super friendly and helpful

I had a great time with my mother. The lights were beautiful and the staff and security was very friendly and helpful.

We were planning on attending Celebration in the Oaks our last evening in New Orleans. The weather turned nasty and they canceled due to inclement weather (12.6.17). I had purchased tickets before our trip. I contacted the event organizers thinking that certainly they would refund me. Nope. I was told to kick rocks even though I am no longer in New Orleans.

DO NOT buy your tickets ahead of time.
