Story

Dr. Michael Loeffler MD holds medical licenses in the states of New York, North Carolina, and Florida. He began his quest to become an ophthalmologist in 1977, attending McGill University located in Canada. He continued his education at McGill University until 1985, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree. In 1986, he started his residency at the Montreal General Hospital. In 1990, he became a Fellow in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery after his fellowship at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital in New York, NY.

I came for the visit to treat my eyes. was prescribed a medication that didn’t work and now I’m suffering from other symptoms. My eyes are red and watery. It is hard to drive as eye residue is covering my vision. I called the office to ask if they would provide a complimentary visit to make up for the misdiagnosed problem, but they refused and informed me that I have to pay. Disappointing treatment and service

I had a eye examination here a few months ago, and to receive a copy of my new prescription, I was charged a additional $25. When I ordered new glasses at a popular eye facility, the new prescription was not correct, and they suggested I return to Dr. Loeffler to have the new prescription rechecked. When I called to make a appointment, I was told by the receptionist that I would have to pay for a completely new eye exam, and pay for a new prescription! This office is a total ripoff and I would advise anyone to avoid if at all possible!

The staff was polite and super helpful. They helped me figure out what insurance plan I had. They also fit me in the schedule too. The doctor was compassionate and polite. Office very clean! Highly recommended!

Patient skills are poor. The office has given in to greed over compassion, care for their patients. Had a serious cardiac inpatient procedure the same day as a scheduled office visit with Dr. Loeffler. Obviously could not make the appointment from my hospital bed but Loeffler's office shot out a bill next day for a missed visit penalty of $75.00. No call from the staff to learn why I missed the appointment. They could care less. It is all about the money not about the caring. This is obviously a very insecure practice. Stay away. Also, just read Dennet's review about the wrong refraction prescription. I had the same experience and after questioning them received the reply that a Physicians' RX is different than an Optometrist RX. Strange. Never had problems with refraction before I went to Loeffler...

Dr Loeffler is an excellent physician! Very professional and very nice men. I have been his patient for over 10 years. Great staff and very clean beautiful office.
