EMI Shielding
Central Coating specializes in the custom application of EMI shielding materials using robotic and manual application methods. EMI coatings provide EMI shielding, anti-static protection and surface grounding in various commercial and military applications. The EMI coatings are intended for EMI shielding of non-conductive substrates. They provide excellent levels of EMI shielding effectiveness over a wide frequency range and excellent adhesion on a variety of plastics.
Conformal Coating
The Conformal Coating Services process provides protection against fungus, moisture, corrosion, thermal and mechanical shock to PCBS. We have a dedicated ESD protected area for this process. Our CNC machining ability to manufacture custom plugs and boots ensures process reliability and quality while reducing cost. We also offer potting, encapsulation and stripping of AR & UR coated boards for rework. We are ANSI/ESD S20.20, ITAR compliant and registered with the US Department of State. We apply all MIL-I 46058C/IPC-CC-830 coatings. Conformal Coating Services prototype runs, quick turnaround and a wide variety of in-stock coatings available
Our Coating Services include the application of:
Polyurethane Enamels
Lacquers & Water Base
Conformal Coating
Plastic & Metal Substrates
Custom Texturing
Reflective Coating
MIL SPEC/CARC
Custom Color Matching
From single prototype samples to production runs in the tens of thousands, Central Coating has the facilities and skills to apply a wide variety of colored coatings and custom textures to your plastic or metal substrates.
•Coating selections range from two-component polyurethane enamels to lacquers and environmentally friendly water-based coatings.
•Colors can be matched from your supplied sample, or by referencing existing Pantone or Federal Standard Color Guides. Custom texture chips are created for approval, and are referenced on each production run.
•Masking tooling is used when your product requires second colors or paint in specific areas.
•Class A Finishes available.
•In-House custom masking and design capabilities; plugs, boots, fixtures, and repeatable close line tolerances.
•ISO 9001:2008 Registered Company
Tac Touch Tactile
A soft rubber-like tactile coating, with outstanding durability and abrasion resistance. Excellent adhesion to most substrates. Its durable finish is chemical, abrasive and mar resistant and can withstand aggressive cleaning solutions. Great solution for handles, joy-sticks and grip applications as well as applications requiring a textured non-slip surface feel. A fantastic cost-effective alternative to over-molding!
CARC- Mill Spec
Central Coating offers Mil Spec and CARC painting services for military equipment.
•Mil Spec top coat finishes include: MIL-DTL-64159, MIL-PRF-22750, and MIL-C-85285 among others.
•Central handles Substrates such as plated plastic asnd metal parts including aluminum and steel.
•Chemical Agent Resistant Coating or CARC paint is specified for use on tactical military equipment, including ground, aviation, munitions and related support equipment. It is used for the ability to withstand the harsh chemicals used in the decontamination process.
We are qualified to apply both Mil Spec primer and CARC coating through our painting services.
Pad Printing
Paint, texture and shielding are only the beginning of a quality finish for your products. When product identification and branding are a requirement, Central offers the precision application of graphic images. Using artwork provided by your art department, or developed by our staff, we can apply four colors in one set-up.
Pad printing can be applied to curved or otherwise irregular surfaces, and is extremely detailed. Line widths of .005″ are routinely made possible.
A wide range of stock and custom colors are readily available, matching your existing requirements or particular needs.
Our in-house design and manufacturing of custom fixtures and printing clichés reduce lead-time and insures reliability.
Silk Screening
Silk screening is another method used to add graphical details to your finished parts. Using artwork provided by your art department, or developed by our staff, we can apply multiple colors to your product.
Automated and hand screening methods are available based on the volume requirements of your project, and are applied by highly experienced operators.
In general, silk screening is used on larger printable surfaces that are flat, although some minor part curvature can be accommodated. Our in-house fixture manufacturing reduces lead-time and insures reliability.
Central Coating is dedicated to providing a quality product, and will work closely with you to determine the best process for your requirements.
FIP Gasketing
Form in Place Conductive Gaskets:
Our automated Form-In-Place gasketing process applies programmed conductive elastomer gasket beads on to metal or plastic substrates. These highly reliable seals can be applied to flanges as narrow as .035″. FIP process compensates for uneven surfaces and affords more real estate in your overall packaging design. The bead exhibits very good adhesion to plated metals, shielded plastics, stainless steel and vacuum metalized surfaces. Attenuation exceeds 75 dB between 200Mhz and 10Ghz.
Form in Place Non-Conductive Gaskets:
Our automated Form-In-Place gasketing process also applies non-conductive elastomer beads to metal and plastic substrates. These form in place gaskets provide reliable environmental seals and have excellent adhesion properties. Beads are dispensed with robotic accuracy providing a highly conformable gasket and can accommodate various different height requirements.
Engineering Notes: We have the capability to do all in house tooling, locating fixtures and programming. Compression range is 10% to 50%, with 30% ideal depending on material. Bead diameters and placements are verified with vision measuring equipment. We offer a wide range of materials for form in place ( fip) gaskets including : silicones, urethanes, but will also work with any customer specified materials.
Central Coating is dedicated to working with our customers to provide quality products and determine the best process to meet your needs. We offer a number of secondary operations, which include; kitting, bonding, potting/encapsulation, soldering and light assembly. We are IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 certified in soldering. Our quick-turn prototype ability allows us to take your applications from concept to completion. Allowing us to manage your secondary operations will result in predictable and controlled processes and often lower transportation, administrative cost and manufacturing overheads.
