Story

We are a fine wine, beer and spirits venue located just within blocks of three Metro stops in the vibrant Penn Quarter District of our nation’s capital. Although Central Liquors, with it's storied history and name has been in existence since 1934, we have recently relocated to our new location near the intersection of 7th and E Streets in the heart of Penn Quarter. We are located a block away from Verizon Center, just south of Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro stop and within walking distance to major cultural attractions and hotels of Washington D.C.

The choice of our new location, formerly an art gallery, is in keeping with the exciting and eclectic Penn Quarter/7th Street Arts District that is fast becoming the main cultural district in the heart of Washington. We are walking distance from the Smithsonian Museums, Newseum, National Portrait Gallery, Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum, International Spy Museum and a variety of fine dining restaurants, theaters and art galleries. Between Central Liquors and Gallery Place, is the ever popular Verizon Center, home to NBA’s Washington Wizards, the NHL’s Washington Capitals, the WNBA’s Washington Mystics, and the Georgetown Hoyas Men’s Basketball team.
