Transfers issued expire before a connecting bus becomes available, have to pay twice at least once per week. Buses are late so often that you have to schedule your travel with time to miss connections factored in to your plans. Their mobile app's user interface is so clunky & disorganized it's useless. The in-bus WiFi rarely works, 90% of the time it says "internet not available- using mobile data". It fails so often that it's not even worth the effort to try to connect only to have it fail. Some evenings the customer service windows are both closed so god forbid you need help with anything, like if their schedule displays show Windows 10 error messages instead of route info like they should. The bathrooms are often closed for cleaning so you have to walk to the Marriott to go. Even so there always seems to be trash clogging the urinals.

Great taking the bus to/from Lakeview. Easy Breezy. The staff is friendly, efficient and really seem to take pride in their work. Thank you.

Good way to go around town when you're just up for something to do, want to go to the mall, or just hang around downtown/SU area when you have the free time. When you're not in a huge time crunch and just want to get somewhere, it's a great way to commute. However, it is the utmost WORST way to commute to college or work. Centro runs on it's own schedule and makes a lot of stops, meaning that a ride to a destination that should take 10 minutes takes a full hour instead. For example, if you have work at noon, you'll probably have to get up at 9 am just to get to the downtown hub, wait for the next connection, and then take a half hour ride to your destination before you get there at 10:30 just because any other bus would've arrived too late. Also, unless you love crowds and loud people, some rides (especially on the OCC bus and the Destiny USA bus during the weekend) will be unpleasant experiences of standing up and holding onto the bar for dear life, moving over so some guys can get onto the already crowded bus. It takes patience....unbelievable patience. So if you just want to meet up with some friends at Armory Square or need to get some Christmas shopping done at the mall, Centro is an excellent tool to have around. However, if you're a student or worker, unless you have some outstanding patience, are open to a change in sleep pattern, I suggest you save up for a car as much as possible.

Worst bus service I've ever experienced in my lifetime. For anyone not from Syracuse, the usual 1 hour (or even 2 or 3 hours) wait between buses is unacceptable, at a time when most bus companies in New York state run their buses 20 min. to 45 min. apart--that's when you can even get bus service to where you want to go, at all! Many routes are so convoluted and winding that it takes three times or longer to get where you want to go--and sometimes there's these mysterious long gaps between service. Fare went up, service went down. For instance, to get to a 1pm appointment on East Genesse St. I have to take a 9:52 bus! When I went to Camilus Walmart from Eastwood one Saturday, it literally took me 7 hours to get there and back (incl. 45 min. to actually shop). I walk very slowly with a slight limp--yet it is literally faster for me to walk to my doctor's office on Burnett Avenue--walking up a steep, long hill at that, from James St., than it is to take a Centro bus. I can't even go to free year-round events at the state fairgrounds on weekends or evenings. With Centro as my main mode of transport, I feel like I live in the boondocks or some third world country. Also, while some drivers are hardworking, truly lovely people to meet, many others are not. About 30 percent of Centro drivers are just plain rude! Or worse, arrogant and obnoxious. Some seem to hate their job and take it out on passengers. Centro has made living in Syracuse a wide-awake nightmare to someone like me, who doesn't have access to a car. Also, passengers are allowed to blast their ipods, which is really awful.
