Update: They've renovated some. Screens are still a little small, but they've upgraded some screens to include loungers. There was a noticeable tear or stain on the screen I went to today. Although I prefer the theaters of neighboring cities, I at least consider it a viewing option. I've gone twice this year which equals the amount of times I'd been to this theater since moving here in 2004. It's a step in the right direction.

Honestly, this is the closest theater to me by miles and I love movies. This theater is in bad need of renovation. I'm not going to complain about high school employees or the seats. It's just not comparable to newer theaters' screen size, comfort or sound. As entertainment choices and movie prices have grown, theaters need to offer an experience you can't come close to replicating at home. Can't say that some of their smaller screens fits this bill. San Mateo deserves a nicer theater.

Relaxing recliner seats.. A clean and neat place that I often visit.  I like the courteous staff too..!  Don't have a reason to complain.

Excellent seats big wide with swivel table top.  Only problem is the train runs right next to the theatre so you get the noise/rumble of the train.  Otherwise I would have given a 5 star.  Parking garage less than one block and free after 6 p.m.  Many GOOD restaurants within complex and within one/two blocks.

They have the recliner seats now, which everyone loves. But the lobby blows. It's about the size of a two car garage and has maybe 4 seats to sit in either before or after seeing a movie. It's good for me cause I live in the area, but it's definitely nothing special or worth going out of your way to see a movie here.

Not quite a premium theater, this is one is very good overall. They have recently upgraded most of the chair into reclining seats. They have a good selection of treats and the place is kept in very good condition.
