My parents are entombed at Merle Hay Mausoleum. It's a very peaceful place to visit them. However, they have somehow "lost" a WWII memorial print that my Mother purchased to hang on the mausoleum wall. Whatever you do, don't expect the staff to safeguard your precious memorials to your family members. You'll be better off to keep them in your home.
I went in to find some burial plots for a genealogy project and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. The woman helping me even asked me if I wanted her to go with me down to the niches downstairs. Also, she told me if I could not find the grave I was looking for outside, to call them and tell them where I was located and they would guide me the right direction by phone. Super, super nice people.
I am giving this one star only ⁷because you dont have a zero. We have several relatives at Chapel Hill. We were very disappointed with the cemetary this Memorial Day weekend. The grass was very high. The graves are completely overgrown. We dig around all of ours each year, but this year it was very hard to do that because of the overgrowth around the headstones. I know it has been rainy but we were at another cemetary right before this one and it was very well kept. There is no excuse for this.
Chapel Hill Gardens -Merle Hay Cemetery and Crematory. My parents rest in peace there along with many people whom I think about often. Worthy of a "look" when creating your personal final arrangements.
Well kept inside and out, restful, peace-bringing. The facility and staff will serve your family well.
