A North Carolina institution especially if you live in the Triangle. The food is every bit as good as the brick and mortal locations but of course you’re paying airport prices. Get your hot dog with mustard chili and onions if you’re new. The burgers and juicy and sizable. The fries are just fries. Bonus points for having beers on hand. Either way, the service is universally good with friendly Carolinians who always seem to brighten up my day after a difficult trip.
One of the better and more affordable food options at RDU terminal 1. I ordered Chili cheese french fries, which didnt look too appetizing at first, but the taste was actually good maybe a little too salty. The staff member manager? was very kind and the service was quick. The eating area is also clean. They share the space with like a cantina next door
Service was bad. The girl taking the orders had zero manners until she seen me take a photo for my review. The sausage egg and cheese was good but the potato tots were greasy and stuck together as if they were recooked. Sweet tea was too sweet. Service is as if they know they have nobody else to work there and they know they’re needed and they have no respect for the customer.
The lady clerk was not very hospitable. Not very helpful. The service was somewhat lazy. Typical airport priced food. Half of our order was not placed in the bag. Only the sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich. The hash browns were either reheated or refried. They were very greasy and stuck together. The sweet tea is very sweet almost like nectar. They act like you’re bothering them if you ask for more ice because the tea is still hot.
Char-grill is a NC chain and there are only a few in the triangle but there should be more. This was my first time at this location in RDU. Aside from the airport prices which are the norm at any airport, this restaurant was great. The food here was absolutely delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed my double cheeseburger combo meal. They carry Cheerwine soda, another delicious NC specialty and my favorite. The grill guy was super nice, and cashier knew her stuff. Dining area and tables were clean.
Gave us a ton of fries. Burger was good. Service was slow. Parking: It's in the airport so... Kid-friendliness: They have tenders.
And I guess the employees are not responsible for cleaning the dining area or taking out the trash! The first thing they reach you in an establishment that serves food, I would think. Wonder why they have such a low star rating-proof...
Not so many other options at Southwest Terminal RDU.Food: 4/5
First time at Char Grill. Got a char-burger and a hamburger steak. The char-burger was tasty but small...go with the hamburger steak sandwich.Food: 4/5
Had the breakfast burger, bacon egg and cheese wasn't bad. The hash browns however are extremely oily. It's done to order in front of you , but the order takes a long time not sure why.
