Charles County has a wide array of parks and facilities that can satisfy most needs of the residents of the area. From outdoor sports fields at Laurel Springs park in LaPlata, indoor activities at the Capital Clubhouse, to trails and waterways around the rivers, there is plenty to do for all ages. The parks are usually clean and will have trashcans and porta potties on site. I have had a great experience with the sports orgs. and the people who run them. A+!!!!!

I've been dealing with Charles County Parks Department for six years and it has always been a good experience for me and my family. The kids enjoy taking part in the sports activities. This year has been a total nightmare for my 5 year old who has been waiting for basketball to start since last season. The team has not been notified of any practices since the Christmas break and I just found out from a neighbor that games start today. I called the Department on Thursday and no one has returned my call. This is a horrible job not letting people know if there is or is not a team, I could have made other arrangements for my child.
