I didn’t go inside the house - too hot and stuff today but the grounds are beautiful! Lots of trails out in the open and through the woods through small tree tunnels. There are signs with history bites all over the property. Bathrooms are clean and there is a filtered water refill station. It is a coveted station and there are quite a few picnic tables and trash receptacles. Parking lot is a decent size (maybe 15 spots). Gravel. Leashed pet dogs are welcome everywhere except inside the house.

Nice way to spend some low key time in the Charleston SC area. Enjoyed the visit and the gardens. Best of all- it's a national park service site. Feel free to make a donation since there's no charge for admission.

This is another Charleston historical treasure...it is a history lesson because of its authentic location & content presentation. Its beauty spans all seasons. We walk our dog here frequently.

Thank you to the National Park service for a free park that is beautiful, historical, and welcoming. We were so happy to find this as we had just tried to go to a plantation and found that we couldn't even drive by without paying the entrance fee. I would much rather have gone here and am glad we did!

This place is so relaxing, and its historic component adds a lot of significance to visiting this park. Staff is friendly and attentive. I would love living nearby so I could visit more often.
