-  Because of library policy of 2 hours each day for public computer use , one needs to get a laptop/tablet if doing anything serious like a job search or for doing longer projects . Also as they shut down Wi-Fi near closing time, you would need to go over to a Starbucks to continue your work . They also did away with the private decks near the windows that use to overlook the harbor and now , one has to work on an open table in the noisier sections .

Children's activities must be planned by some kind of freaking genius. My kids went for a ninja book club thing and I got back a string of pictures of the craziest things I've ever seen accomplished inside a library: crawling through a web of yarn trip wires, walking tipping beams, etc. If I hadn't seen the cardboard chariot races in person then I wouldn't believe it for myself. They have a wonderful book selection and it's nice to be at a public library that doesn't swallow the left-wing cultural monolith that typically scourges American library systems. Charleston is weird. Keep Charleston Weird. Where have I heard that?
