Charter has been pretty darn perfect for me. I've been going for years and watch them get busier every year. I plan on hiring them next year. Great team.

I paid to have my taxes done by a professional due to the affordable care act. The IRS had issues with my filing that was prepared by Charter Accounting. I filed in February and it is now almost October. I still haven't received my refund. I spoke to the IRS and was told how to resolve the issue after many calls and over 10 hours on the phone. I told Charter Accounting time after time what needed to be done to fix the issue and expected them resolve it since I had paid them in February. They would not. The accountant that did my taxes would dodge my calls and never return them. He was constantly on vacation. They now claim that they can't figure out the affordable care act and I am on my own. I have since done what I had repeatedly asked them to do and the issue is being resolved now. Charter Accounting robbed me. I paid them because I thought they would be able to do taxes. Unfortunately for me and anyone else that uses them they cannot. Stay away!

Charter accounting made mistakes on our Georgia return said we owed money after only living in state for 28 days.Had to ammend that return and actually got money back.Then charter accounting screwed up our Iowa return so had to pay interest becasue of there mistake.Avoid charter accounting and tax service at all costs.

I have used Charter the last two years and both experiences have been positive. I def think using a CPA saves you more money with the gov't than you spend on the CPA, so even if it's a wash it makes sense to have a professional do your taxes. I recommend them.
