This place is one of the largest reasons why my wife and I will have a hard time living anywhere else other than North Georgia. Many, many days have been spent exploring this naturally beautiful environment on foot and loving every second. There are more than enough gorgeous trails in which to get lost, and sights to keep your eyes open and smile permanent. Spend as much timbre here as you can.

This place is amazing!!!!! Looking for a quick overnight backpacking trip this is the place to go. Great sunsets and sunrises. Fire pits and usually plenty of wood to gather. Keep in mind you need to carry the water ypu will need up the mountain. There is a seasonal spring but don't count on it to be running enough to get the water you will need.

Interesting place to visit. It's a beautiful place with a huge history lesson. There are many hiking paths and tours to participate in. It is handicapped accessible. Nice paths for handicapped scooter. We enjoyed the many historical details regarding both sides of the battles fought there. It was a sobering experience.

Stayed at the Desoto Falls camping area. It was a great place that was quiet and beautiful. There is short nicking trails that lead from the center of the camping area with both going to waterfalls. The shorter one in a little strenuous that I don't recommend doing if it has rained lately or if the ground is wet. Both are worth it just to stop in to do and can be done in a little over an hour. If staying here, it it only a short drive to other hiking trails including the AT. The campsites are spacious with about half able to accommodate large campers of up to 35 feet. The others I would only suggest tents. The facilities are basic with only two having running water and showers. The prices to stay here are standard for state parks of $16.
