Came here for Chinese New Year, super friendly staff and lots to chose from on the menu. Seafood dish was really tasty so was the sirloin dish. Glass noodle dish with minced pork was surprisingly spicy but worth the tears. Veggies were a bit too salty, but still good. Overall good experience.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: Yes
The BEST food I have had anytime recently. Everything we got was absolutely amazing. It looked exactly like it did in the menu pictures, and tasted even better. The waiters were very nice and had great suggestions. I plan on taking people here whenever they visit. It was incredible! My favorites were the twice cooked beef, and the cold noodles appetizer, but everything was delicious.
Everything was very bland. The ribs tasted as if they had been reheated and not fresh. Soup was tasteless, and the ho fun wasnt any better. Maybe ill try dishes from the authentic menu. Amazing chicken was far from amazing, driest chicken i had. They have a location coming to to north hills.Dine in: YesTakeout: YesDelivery: Yes
Dear Chengdu My wife and I came in the other day for dinner and had a great experience. I had the potatoes and Shishido peppers with eggplant and it was delicious. She had the eggplant and it was exquisite. We are so glad we decided to stop in. The service was great and the food was delicious. Will definitely be back again and will tell our friends to stop in as well. Happy holidays! See you again next time!
Not sure how this place has 4 n half star reviews. Went there with high expectations just to be disappointed. Got spicy chicken that was ok Lamb flaming pot was decent with fries in it that was weird part Then order a special fried rice that was ok. Our stomach’s wasnt happy after the experience maybe it was the oil that was used. We saw cooks dragging big dirty trash can through the restaurant filled with ppl. To end with the server gave us the copy circled around the tips sections which I felt wasnt needed.
Love this place The food is crazy spicy which I generally don’t like, but the flavor profiles are amazing. BYOB bringing a nice beer is a good idea as you’ll need something to drink. Must order from authentic menu! Bar next door sells beer if their open.
Schezuan food is so amazing. Make sure you get the authentic menu because they also have an American one. Mapo tofu, spicy fish and and spicy chongquing chicken. We also ordered coconut bubble tea. Everything here is amazing.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: NoTakeout: YesDelivery: Yes
A FOODIE’S GEM. TOP 3 AUTHENTIC CHINESE in Pittsburgh. The owner/chef is a James Beard Award Semifinalist few years running including 2022. I with friends/colleagues have been here several times and never disappointed. AUTHENTIC Chinese fare, well seasoned and flavorful; very much unlike the awful unhealthy american “Chinese” food that has overtaken much of America. The menu is rather longish, but I overlook it because of the wide variety of entrees that reminded me of my past trip to PRC. The menu is a reason to keep visiting to savor both the traditional Szechuan and the much elevated americanized listings. My recommendations as of July 2022: Teasmoked Duck, Homestyle Zhu cubed duck, Braised pork shoulder, Bokchoy w black mushrooms, Flaming multi mushroom, Kung pao chicken chengdu style, Smoked pork belly, Eggplant w green beans, Pork w woodear mushrooms, Shredded pork w bamboo shoots, Pan fried hot peppers. And, black or jasmine tea unsweetened that is not only aids digestion but also it cleanses the palate savor delicate flavors and textures. Very highly recommended
Four stars for food alone. So, the food is pretty tasty. There are a lot of unusual Items on the authentic Chinese menu like frog and “odd tasting jelly” and pork intestines that most Americans probably wouldn’t order. Also a lot of the items on this menu that are something that would appeal to American tastes are things that are not normally on your run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant. Cumin lamb, chicken Chonquing style- delicious. They are very heavy on the oil in the meat dishes. Service is sub-par and not super friendly. Bathroom is the dirtiest bathroom I’ve ever been in.
I have eaten at plenty of Sichuan restaurants in various cities and this is by far the best. There is a reason why they were a James Beard Award finalist and their food is tasty and well priced. We got the diced chongqing chicken, the mapo tofu and the dan dan noodles. The food was more than enough for the two of us. The chongqing chicken was amazing. The chicken was crispy and tender with the flavour being perfectly balanced with spicy and numbing. This is my favourite sichuan dish and out of all the restaurants I have tried it at, this is the best. The mapo tofu was also delicious as the tofu was silky, had a great consistency and wonderful flavour. The dan dan noodles were also great. Not the best ones I have had but for the price it’s a great app to start with. The service was also fast and attentive. I wish I could return to try their other dishes as well.
