What a disappointment of a business this place is. We went in and ordered a baby shower cake. From the beginning they tried to take advantage of our order because we walked in with our own cake design, with basic fondant shape designs. Most of which are cookie cutter cutouts. The representative that took our order wanted to charge us $100 dollars just for the fondant work alone. When we showed the design that included tiny pink polka dots allover the cake, we received a cake that had massive pink polka dots all around the cake except for the top. Simple tiny polka dot design instructions couldn’t even be followed properly! Since the bakery was already closing at 3:00 pm Saturday, we had to take the cake to Target at Greenwich to have them surgically remove the giant polka dots and put tiny pink polka dots all over the cake. We also had someone else do the fondant work for less then half of what this bakery quoted us. When we offered to give the representative our own cake design, she rolled her eyes, refused and said that she’ll remember it. The only reason we gave this place a one star is because the flavor of the cake turned out really good. Otherwise we and our family members, that were previous costumers, will not be returning to this place in the future. Please see before and after photos. Thank you Target bakery for saving our baby shower cake at the last minute.

Cheri's Bakery created a beautiful and delicious wedding cake for us!! The cake was exactly what we pictured and tasted so good. All of our guests complimented the cake! I thought we would have leftovers out of this giant cake but not a bite was left. Delivery was perfect and they placed the cake on the stand for us and added the topper to it for us so we did not have to worry about a thing. Their customer service was also great. We've been customers of Cheri's for years and so - it was the first place we thought of for my daughter's wedding cake. It was a less than memorable experience - we felt rushed, we were left to look at examples of cakes that had already been done and the samples were so tiny (for 4 people) that you had just a nibble to decide what flavors - limit of 6 - you wanted. Cheri spent more time away from us than with us. Maybe it was just a bad day for Cheri but if you are looking for a really great experience that makes a wedding cake tailored just for you - Cheri's Bakery is not it.

In response to the owner, No!! My mother never once commented that our baby shower cake "looked great" before leaving your bakery! She was really upset about it, and made a point to call me to tell me that your bakery didn't design the cake the way I had asked and visually showed in my original design for my baby shower. We were "ALL" very disappointed about the cake design, especially when we had originally offered to give the staff member a copy of our original design so that there wouldn't have been any mistakes made on our cake. Since she said that she didn't need the design and would remember it, perhaps better staff communication should be required, especially when someone other than the person who took the order is decorating the cake. My mother asked that the letter size be made smaller on the top of the cake so that we had room to place our separate fondant order from a different bakery on the top of the cake. Again, that would've been easy to spot for the decorator had our copy of the design been taken like we originally offered. And NO, I never said that I was a decorator!! What I told your staff member was that I had worked with fondant before. A baby's head is a small round ball of fondant, that happened to be sitting on top of a larger ball of fondant which of course was the pumpkin. A sculpting tool is used to create divets on different areas of the ball to give it that pumpkin shape. And by the way, we paid a separate baker $40.00 for that so called "labor intensive" fondant work, "All" of the fondant work! They felt the job wasn't anywhere near the labor intensive as you described it was, at all. The 2 things we liked about the cake your bakery did was the taste, and the surprise glitter that was sprinkled all over the place, even though we never asked for it. Considering that your bakery had already messed up on the letter size and messed up on the polka dot design, the last thing my mother wanted to do, would be to ask to have even more repairs be made in the back. She shouldn't have needed to ask for any repair work if your staff member had just originally accepted our design copy from the start. It was an incredibly simple order...a strawberry flavored cake with strawberry glaze filling, covered in white frosting with tiny pink polka dots all over. And by the way, the original "huge" polka dots that were put on there, were only put on the sides, when we asked for tiny pink polka dots all over the cake. To me that includes the top too. Again, that was clearly visible in the design I offered to give. Sorry, we will not be doing business with your bakery anymore. When it comes down to looking at our simple order, and it causes everyone to think that we must be picking up someone else's cake design, because I know this is clearly not what we asked for...and we had to get it fixed by someone at the Target bakery who easily comprehended what we originally had wanted from your bakery...it's simply time to do all of our cake ordering business elsewhere.

Just had our one year anniversary top tier from our wedding cake. We were told that it may not be good, but it is tradition. It was actually pretty good. The ladies we worked with when we ordered our wedding cakes were great, the cakes looked awesome, and everybody loved it.
