"Our goal is to treat our clients as we would treat our families, and to treat our clients pets as though they were our own."
Cherry Ridge Veterinary Clinic is nestled in the hills of Northeastern Pennsylvania and Cherry Ridge Township. Although we are off the beaten path, we offer professional, top quality care with compassion. John P. Burlein, V.M.D. founded our clinic in 1963. A second veterinarian was added in 1974. In 1976 co-owner, Richard C. Trayes, V.M.D. joined the practice. In 1993 David M. Rutledge, V.M.D. joined the practice and became a co-owner in 2000. Amy Platko-Williams, D.V.M. joined the practice in 1996. At present, we are a nineteen room facility, fully equipped to handle most cases, and completly computerized. Our staff consists of our Veterinarians, Veterinarian Medical Staff, Support Staff, and Administrative Personnel. We are a team of diverse individuals working to serve you and your animal companion to the best of our ability. Our philosophy of veterinary medicine is to provide the best service to you by consulting with each other to reach an accurate diagnosis and to strive to provide the best care in treating your pets.
Rapport is the most important factor in the "doctor-client" relationship. We offer a personal client-doctor relationship. It is extremely valuable for a doctor to know your pet's past history; this will help us in arriving at a diagnosis as quickly as possible. If you feel more comfortable working with one doctor in our group, please feel free to ask for him or her. If any diagnosis, treatment, procedure, or bill is not clear to you, please ask us about it. We will do our best to explain and answer your questions. Estimates of professional services will be given upon request.
