I received hearing aids 2 years ago, and have had them checked and adjusted since than. Everything was done on time and with professional staff. And I have had great help from the front desk, all the way to the end. I just call again with a problem, caused by me, and they will have it fixed in a couple days. My wife thanks everyone too!

I had abdominal pain and throwing up blood. I couldn't find a Dr that would take va . So I went hwre. The nurse thinks she is a doctor and told me there is nothing ahe cam do for me. That it's possibly food poisoning. I asked for a letter stating that and they said they don't have the authority to give such lwtter. Thank God for recordings. Then the doctor said the same thing after me begging to see someone. I am now in the ER with kidney stones. Thanks for making me further not believe in the va.

The doctors here don't want to spend more than 5 minutes with you and if you ask for them to spend more time than that, they get exasperated at you and don't listen to your (medical) problems. They are way understaffed, and it takes an act of Congress to get an appointment there. The staff doesn't believe in returning phone calls, and will cancel your appointments without even giving you a courtesy call to inform you then when you do show up for your "now cancelled appointment " and inform them that you *do* have an appointment, they will tell you that you had a "phone" appointment,and because you weren't home to answer the phone, they get defensive and tell you to reschedule for 3-4 months down the road, and that they won't refill your meds until you see the "doctor". Terrible, terrible place!

I've recently been receiving care from the Chico clinic after years of receiving care at Mather. The service in Chico is so friendly and helpful. I can sense that the Chico workers actually care about veterans. I feel blessed to experience this quality care. BUT, yes, the phones are horrible at primary care. Mental Health is squared away; the guy answers or calls back. I just hope my health remains stable and I don't have an urgent primary care need.
