The Advocacy Center for Children of Galveston County is a 501(C)(3) non-profit agency established to improve community response to child abuse in Galveston County.
After a child has reported alleged abuse, the Center coordinates interviews and agency collaboration. This period is critical, not only for the preparation of a criminal case, but also for the ability to minimize trauma to the child and family. Instead of going to a police station or government office building, the child is brought to the Center to be interviewed. Interviews are conducted in a child-friendly environment where both children and non-offending family members can feel more comfortable.
The Advocacy Center for Children of Galveston County seek justice, safety and healing for child victims of abuse.
