If I could give it less than 1 star I would. I made a comment on check-in about the locked gate and they said we have too much property. Then my sister and her husband came to see us when we got there went into office was told had to pay $5 a person, my sister didn't understand and she made a statement about it and the lady became "unglued". Bottom line we got a letter on car windshield saying we weren't welcome back which is great we weren't planning on going back. So I agree if you're weekend camper don't go there as the owner told me "we don't need your money"

The scuba diving is worth a trip out when the visibility is good.

I gave it 2 stars only because it is clean. I will never weekend camp here again. The staff was rude, the camp sites for weekend campers were gravel with no shade, and they have charges for everything! $5 deposit to get a key to bathrooms and showers. They have a 7.5 speed limit that they enforce! Hope your vehicle idles that slow. The train tracks are very close and very busy. Train noise is pretty constant. They have rules for everything. This place is nothing more than an elite camping club that does not want weekend camper business. Dont waste your weekend here. Plenty of other sites that are just as nice and really want your business.

Short version: beautiful place unfriendly drunken people and ridiculous times and fees. New comers be careful, the regulars are rude, and do not even speed by 1-2 mph. I went camping with a few girlfriends of mine and we were so excited, the campground is extremely clean and pretty. We went swimming right away and decided we were hungry and would come back later, so we decided to just hang out for the night and cook some hot dogs and roast marshmallows on the fire, that's when we realized that we forgot our fire starter, so I called my boyfriend and asked him if he could bring it to us, when he got here the gate was closed and it was completely bright outside still, so we went and opened the gate (the staff gave us the number), then he came back and started the fire for us and we ate our food and decided to go swimming again, we got into his truck and drove around to the lake where we got screamed at and chased down for going about 9-10 mph, the speed limit is 7 1/2, but his truck would not idle any lower. The older men and women chased us down and screamed at us to slow down and used obscene language, we felt very unwelcomed. We made it to the lake only to find that it closed at 5:30 which I thought was strange considering during summer it's light out until 9 or even sometimes 10, but we decided to go back and make smores so we did then we went and showered ( which are very clean and nice showers) and my boyfriend left and we went to bed. Later that night when we were all trying to sleep people began to fight because they were all completely wasted. Someone was hitting his wife/ girlfriend, and other people were getting involved and were screaming at them, my friend was scared that the drunk guy was still there so we went to the neighbors to ask them if he left or not, as we walked up they had an extremely aggressive big dog that almost attacked us if the owner didn't grab his collar, which I think aggressive animals should not be allowed at a campsite for families. we ended up not being able to fall asleep until closer to 2 because the people would not stop talking loudly and complaining about the drunk guy, ( we also heard the dog growl and bark and a kid start to cry and someone yell duke bite him, so again the dog was aggressive) no one from the park came to fix the arguments, only other campers. The next day we woke up went swimming and set our stuff on the table, when we were all the way out at the end of the buoys and someone just picked our stuff up and moved it to the ground, there were plenty of other tables but since we took the one in the shade I'm guessing that they wanted that table and decided we couldn't have it, I'm assuming that these people were regulars, since they knew other people there. When we went to checkout the staff in the front tried to tell me that my boyfriend stayed the night because she saw his truck in the morning, which is completely false and offended me that she kept saying he did when Ik he didn't if he did I would have paid for 4 people instead of 3. She then made me pay $1.50 for him coming and staying for a couple hours, and continued to argue with me until I just walked out. I will never come here again, because all of us felt unwelcomed.

This is not the place for weekend campers. This is a member-only facility that has a few spots where they let the "riff-raff" stay. Truth be told...the spaces are in a parking lot. Forget about the beautiful views and grassy spaces you see on the website...as a weekend camper you will be treated to a desert-like camping spot with a view of the machine shed, some old machinery, and endless golf cart traffic at all hours of the night. And those golf carts are filled with drunk, rude, and vulger members...as a father of four children, I dont appreciate that at all. Of course they don't tell you all this when you make a reservation, so this is your warning. I am unsure why they even have spots for non-members. Again, this is a members-only rv park that happens to have a few spots in the parking lot where they will let non-members stay. Think twice before ruining your weekend by staying here.
