During my experience with this Chipotle, I ran into a couple of problems. It seems like they are always running out of ingredients and they tend to skimp on them. Even when they did have full ingredients, they put the bare minimum on it. There was one time where they had ran out of pico de gallo and cheese, they said they ran out. But after I finished I went back to the counter and saw that they had replenished all the ingredients. I would've waited for them to refill the stuff, but instead they just sent me off with a meal that wasn't full finished. Hopefully, in the future they can give an order that I actually ordered and paid for. sad :
Was super hungry and looking forward to a good meal. But then they told us they ran out of cheese and pico, and gave us tiny portions. Walked back 10 minutes later and the cheese and pico got restocked.
Chipotle still sucks apparently. My daughter and I were at the Westfield Escondido Mall last year when she began to get hungry. There aren't a lot of great options in the food court area, and Chipotle didn't have a line, so that's where we ended up. I ordered a "Steak Taco" with a flour tortilla, fajita vegetables, pinto beans, salsa verde, and cheese. The "steak" at Chipotle is beef chopped into small cubes with a taste and odor that reminds me a little bit of cheap bologna. They claim their beef is all grass-fed and sourced from Australia. Apparently, Mel Gibson isn't the only export Australians should be ashamed of. The fajita vegetables, slick and greasy strips of onions and peppers robbed of their flavor by whatever industrialized cooking process Chipotle uses, pretty much add nothing. The salsa verde tasted like tabasco infused with farts, and the chalky pinto beans tasted like little balls of Play-Doh. In other words, this taco was warm rubbish. The "Carnitas Taco" was also ordered, with Chipotle's "tomato salsa" along with queso sauce on a U-shaped crispy corn tortilla shell. I wish I could break down the flavors of this one, but the overwhelming throat-scraping salt content in the queso and carnitas left me in desperate need of a water well - to crawl into and die. For several minutes after I ate this, I could taste nothing else but salt. The carnitas didn't feel as dry as I remember them from the last burrito I had from Chipotle years ago, but that could be because the employees spit in my food. I'm not saying I know for sure that they did, but why would that be surprising here? It wouldn't. Put simply, to order tacos at any Chipotle while living in San Diego County is to commit taco treason. Your punishment may include falling ill to anything from e.coli to norovirus. With Chipotle's well-documented history of spreading both of these foodborne illnesses across the country, I was unwilling to take any chances with my family on tainted produce, so I ordered my 3-year-old daughter a bowl of chicken and rice and specified that no 'room temperature' vegetables or toppings were to be added. She had a few bites, made a sour face, and said "daddy, I don't like this." I don't blame you, sweetheart. This was the closest I've ever come to child abuse.
Was hungry and excited to have chipotle but when we go there they said they ran out of cheese and pico and had no more, which is fine and it happens, but when we walked pass 10 minutes later they had restocked both.....
We go to Chipotle a lot because of my kids. This one always seems inconsistent. I order kids meals here.....and they always seem either confused by what is included.....or they argue with you. Other stores....all consistent. I also feel like Chipotle is cutting back on portions. They are happy to load you up on rice and beans......anything else is pretty skimpy. Why not have measured scoops.
Went there today, got a bowl, chips and queso super nice staff, the whole interaction was pretty quick which is good because I was in a hurry, all in all I had a good experience.
Food was great...they needed at least one more worker to keep up with the busy lunch time.Food: 5/5
Not the greatest Chipotle experience. Don't know was it because slow Thursday evening but they were running out some of the items yet nobody was actively refilling containers or cooking more sofritas. Clearly items had been there on the counter for quite some time thus were not the freshest incredients you can get. Haven't had similar issues at E Valley Parkway location where I typically visit and will do from now on as well.
This one was in a food court in a mall. It was OK. I think I prefer the standalone stores.
I usually give this specific location 5 stars, but this time my bowl was mostly rice when I asked for light rice. I'm used to getting an awesome amount of all the good stuff, so having mostly rice was disappointing. There was no one there and two employees working that I could see. Maybe it was just me that night, but the one standing closest seemed sad.
