What a gift to be able to camp with majestic views like this. The occasional wandering bear or cat doesn't affect the friendly spacious sites. A bear box for food and a picnic table and shelter are provided. Bring your own drinking and cooking water. Bathrooms aren't far. Flashlights necessary. Star watching is a must. Lodge and store up the hill, several trailheads within walking distance.

Great campground. If you are visiting Big Bend in the summer it's the place to be because it's always 15-20 degrees F cooler than the rest of the park. It's because it's at a higher elevation. The breakfast buffet at the restaurant is super good too, you can get a really filling meal for only $6 (cold part of the buffet only)!!

Love this place. Great place to camp when the heat is up. However, this campground is small and almost always full.

This one of the coolest campgrounds I've ever stayed at. The basin has many trails in close vicinity. Such a different environment. Just outside the basin it's treeless and true desert. And the stars are amazing in all of big bend.
