Looking for a casual place with lunch specials in Miami Lakes. Cute, basic, clean Columbian fast food stop. Tables & take out counter with waitress service. Small menu with daily specials in the $10-13 range. I ordered a nice platter with pork cutlet, soup, fried bananas & rice for $10. Good, friendly service from the bilingual server. SUPER! Wheelchair accessibility: Street accessable.
CHIVAS EXPRESS IN MIAMI LAKES Today I bought Arepa de Huevo, among other food products, to my surprise the Arepa de Huevo wasn't good, and I approach the manager of the restaurant explaining to her why the Arepa de Huevo wasn't good, and I will gladly explain how should be done to her or to the cook in a very calm and polite manner. Her response was: I don't want to hear anything, the cook will not learn anything from you, we are here to survive and we do what we do, and we don't have any Barranquilleros or Costeños here. It was very discriminatory, for me coming from Barranquilla and being part of the Miami Lakes community for more than 20 years, I never experience such treatment from any business establishment in Florida or the country. Look like she doesn't want to improve the food product, really bad customer service on her part. To the owner: I will gladly to meet with you and discuss it. Just reply to this message with the date, time, and location.
I went here looking for a McDonalds alternative and found a Columbian restaurant in the shopping center. Chivas seems to be more for local clients and has a smaller setting inside. The restaurant serves churrasco. I ordered the frijoles rojo and the maduros with 2 diet coke. The menu is attached and the prices are very good. The service was quick and the waitresses were friendly. I do recommend
The worst!! I wait 10 min to a waitress ask me what I want and whem I said a bandeja paisa she told me that there is no rice and was a lunch time!! Dont go there!!Food: 1/5
Modongo soup was pretty good. Very clean place, they have products from Colombia such as quipitos.
We came in and were served immediately. Food was delicious and the service was excellent. La sopa de mondongo was so good I highly recommend Food: 5/5
Little Jim hidden in a shopping center competing with First Watch. Love their Casuelas.Food: 5/5
Everything was absolutely delicious. We had beef and chicharron empanadas with cafe con leche. They told me about the empanadas deal which was 12 for 17 dollars or something like that but we declined because we thought 12 would be too much but we were left wanting more! I should have definitely taken that deal. I don’t live in Miami anymore but when I return to the area, I will for sure come back. Muchísimas gracias!!
My favorite Colombian spot in the area! The cheese and chicken empanadas are fantasticFood: 5/5
blandest food i ever had in my life. I got the bandeja paisa. my parents and I asked for small substitues. and they confused all the substitutes for some reason but no big deal. mistakes happen. but once they brought the food my rice and steak were both cold. my dad's steak was also cold. had to ask them to take it back, and once it came back... the steak still came back barely warm.... mind you, we were literally the only customers there at the time. tried my best to be positive about it but the food was just so bland and tasteless. left without really eating. very disappointing.
