I'm a big fan of Chodang and the food here, but I'm also frustrated by the higher price and lack of service. Those two should go hand in hand with each other. They need to increase staffing to make the dining experience better. TL;DR. The food was good but the service was lacking.
Very friendly service and great value for money. We were looking for a place that did good Korean pancake and we found it here. They have some special sale prices on their special bento right now, really worth it for how much food you get! It took a while to get out food but it was super fresh and yummy! They have a huge tent to sit and eat under or they have well spaced tables inside, as well.
Very clean place, and great food and service. The portions were also quite big…enough of everything to have some for later.
Not as good as the one in Artesia but it's ok. There's never a line so that's worrisome as I don't want this one to close. I had the tofu soup with clams medium spicy and it was good. Had to hunt for the clams but they were there. And had it kalbi. Good as usual. Been eating at chodang many years and and they've been consistent. But I do miss the rice cooked in the stone bowls. The side dishes were ok. The potatoe salad tasted sweet but the kimchee, cucumbers and bean sprouts good. A pleasant dinner
First time dine in here and I love it! Their bento box just as pretty as it looks from the poster. Comes with side dishes, rice virgins, clean noodles and your choice of protein, and a piece of egg roll. Also got tofu combo, comes with mild seafood tofu soup, oysters, clams, shrimps , and bbq short rib! a must try for sure! Bbq pork short rib, you can also add cheese for $1 extra. Seafood noodle soup. I love all of the banchans, they also give you a bag of seaweed for you to play with your rice and meat! I used it as a wrap! Will come back for sure, cuz I wanna try their fish dishes! Looks so good!
Went with friends and family and was extremely satisfied with the food. Finished everything including the side dishes. Food was delicious and would definitely recommend!
I came to this restaurant with my family and was pleasantly surprised. The service was great and the food tasted amazing. The restaurant itself was extremely clean and organized. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
The food is delicious and the service was great. I highly recommend the soft tofu soup and galbi.
One of the most expensive Korean BBQ places we have ever visited. The tab for four of us was $135, just for an entree apiece. Portion size was ok but seasoning on the Bulgogi was non existent. I have no problem paying a premium price for food if it's a dining out experience but this is simply a small bistro almost like a take out place. My wife had tofu which was $25. Just a basic dish. I've paid about $6.50 for that at other places for same portion size and same flavor. Daughters spare rib bento box, another $25. 4 small spare ribs, noodles, rice and a couple other sides that honestly no one ate. Just simply ridiculously priced for what you're getting. The service was slow but we get that in today's times since help is hard to find. We waited about 20 minutes to get our check because there was only one server and four tables dining. We won't be going back. There are so many 'all you can eat' BBQs that are about $15 per person with way better sides. I'm not guessing they get a lot of return business.
I expected stone rice but they didn't serve it. However serving staffs are very kind and all food I ordered are so delicious
