From the first time I went to Chofi's, I was instantly hooked with their tasty and flavorful birria tacos and consume. Very authentic local Mexican restuarant that has many traditional items on their menu and all for a great price. Highly recommend their aguas frescas, and they are also BYOB so you can easily make your own margaritas. There are only a few tables to eat at inside the restaurant but the atmosphere is fun and cozy. Service is excellent, always greeted joyfully despite how busy it usually is. Will continue making this my go to spot for birria tacos and Mexican food in general
There’s NO WAY you’re finding a better birria taco than this in North Jersey… if you do please tell me. Food: 5/5
So delicious! To all those people complaining that Chofi is expensive, I say go get your $1.79 Taco Bell taco and keep the lines shorter at Chofi for those of us who appreciate hand-made tacos, made with nixtamalized corn, done birria style. The ingredients were obviously top quality and super fresh. And I got nothing but smiles and pleasant service. The place could use a quick paint job but it was super cute inside. I'll be back for sure.
Absolutely delicious and always fresh!! You may call ahead but they will just tell you to place your order online ... or you can always dine in as they do have a few chairs and tables... The consume is always the best part! I love to sprinkle lime juice on my tacos and sprinkle extra lime juice in the consume! They're also byob and offer different types of virgin drinks .. I bought myself a michelda and added tequila to it when I got home.. Reasonably priced, the staff is friendly and polite! I think they're fast and efficient when I ordered my food was ready for pickup ! Will definitely recommend and definitely looking forward to ordering more stuff on their menu!
Cashier is a very nice, helpful woman who can easily help you if you aren't too familiar with what suits your appetite. Overall, I had a really good experience for my first time trying Birrias. Would recommend others to try them, especially if you are sensitive to spicy foods. Kid-friendliness: Very Family oriented restaurant and saw no issues with children.
I had the birria tacos and consume, as well as the quesadilla with peppers and mushrooms it was so flavorful, it was like magic in my mouth. One of the best meals I've had this whole year. Hands down. 5 stars, all the way. And a BYOB to boot. Extra star.
Food is very good, the Birria alone was a bit dry so you really need the dip. The poblano was also very good. I recommend the homemade flan! First time to drink this soda, surprisingly tasty! Pricey but the portions are good
This is an excellent option and addition to the area. The owner saw potential to tap into the new transplants in the area with a new west coast styled Mexican cuisine and that's quite alright. The food is absolutely delicious. Ordering ahead? Their ordering method is modern and results in a more accurate order orders are not taken by telephone but only through their website. The wait can be long, yes, so order ahead of time and avoid waiting for long periods of time.
The mole poblano is divine. Mushroom quesadillas with blue tortillas are so fragrant and memorable. Birria is always a pleaser. Plus their salsas. The quality of their tortillas is unforgettable—fresh, floury, colorful. Love the interior decor. Will definitely return when in the area. Also, don’t forget to keep a lookout for the cute neighborhood cats outside the shop down the block.
