Had a chance to try out Chote miyan this past week. It was on my to go list since it opened, but it didn't meet the hype. It was okay food. Vada pav were overcooked/burned because of refrying, i think. They were on the spicy side. I would prefer/recommend "mithaas" vada pav over these. Chili honey cauliflower was crispy, and it was a good portion, but sadly, it was missing the Chili and honey. They were simple double fried Cauliflower pakoda. Butter Chicken was just okay... let's see, instead of saying, "Not so good, we can say" not so bad... it was an okay food, but the view is amazing. food court itself is very crowded. Food court has seating inside ac area, and there are some tables outside, too. We loved the view. And yes, mango lassi tasted good.
I would not recommend it, after waiting for ordering food in a queue. It was not that the food was bad; for the price changed for food it doesn’t do justice. The place doesn’t provide freshly cooked Indian cuisine. I saw employees use the frozen food items that you can get from Indian stores. For that you don’t have to travel to a dine in eatery. No service, one needs to start questioning why do I tip when I need to go get the food. This is true for all the food joints in timeout market. The place had 4 restrooms and you will have to stand in a queue for 20 minutes. Whole Timeout Market was really crowded, it was difficult to find a seaton space and enjoy the food. The place was also really noisy
Decent food with some sort of fusion variety going on. The paneer khurchan rolls did not disappoint, the mixture and combination of flavors meshed well with the texture of the tender paneer and roti. The honey chilli cauliflower, however, was kind of a disappointment. There was hardly any chili or spice in the sauce and the cauliflower was not crispy either. seemed to have lacked salt too. the most sauce there was was a mild amount of honey that settled at the bottom of the plate. The bombay bhel was good, though, was crunchy and flavorful with each bite.
Love love love absolutely the vada pau, paneer and chicken khurchan rolls. They are a little pricey given the location. We recently tried their palak chat that was yummilicious as well. The lassi's are rich but flavor is OK!
3 Stars for food. We ordered Vada pav, Bhel, Magic Masala Fries, Tea. The vada pav was great with both mint and sweet chutney, and a chilli on top. It reminded me of Mumbai - it was that good. Bhel was good too but too sweet. Tea was pretty good. Magic masala fries were average, not that masala in them. The staff is kind of unpleasant if not rude. The cashier guy was so engrossed in his own things that he didn’t even acknowledge people were waiting for him to order food. They have this stupid buzzer system where it vibrates and lights up when the order is ready, we were sitting right in front where the chef was making our order but instead of passing the tray to us, we had to go collect from the cash counter that too on the right side because the cashier was so peculiar about it. Overall not a pleasant experience as nobody was friendly from the staff as if they didn’t care much about the business. Tip to the owners: Try to provide some training to the staff if you want to grow the business. In my one hour of stay there, I have seen so many people leaving the place because the staff wasn’t bothered or welcoming to them.
Had been planning to try this place out for a long time. It's inside the Time Out market along with several other restaurants in the food court. We got the chicken khurchan, curry chicken 65, lamb Chapli kebab burger with masala fries and guava lassi. I was seriously impressed with guava lassi. Perfect taste, not too sweet and very unique. Must try. Burger was delicious, Chapli kebab was perfectly spiced. Chicken khurchan was yum it was served over small crispy naans. Very nice presentation. Curry chicken 65 was a disappointment. The presentation was great but it had some weird honey sauce/ sweet chutney drizzled over it which killed the flavor of the chicken. I wish they would change that. The portion sizes are small compared to the prices. Sadly they were out of kheema pav so will have to visit again next time to try that. Vegetarian options: Cauliflower 65, Paneer khurchan Chana masala Lassi
Amazing food n service. The Chef "Subhash" has real magic in preparation. It just reminded us of actual Mumbai street food which we have been eating all time. The Chef's assistant n the girl taking order are so warm n welcoming. Food is worth every penny n so is the service given.... Can't wait to visit back.Dine in: YesOutdoor seating: YesTakeout: Yes
We found this gem while walking near NYC skyline. This outlet is located inside the time-out market and serves one of the tastiest Indian food. We even found pallak/spinach patta chat which is a rare thing.Food: 5/5
The food here is excellent and is a great addition to Time Out Market! Really happy to see an Indian AND Halal vendor! Food: I tried the Chicken Khurchan Bombay Frankies, Honey Chili Cauliflower, Magic Masala Fries, Keema Pav, & Samosa Chaat. I found that every single item was a complete hit and it tasted very authentic! I especially loved the Bombay Frankies because of the lacha Paratha! It's SOOOO good! It's a must try in my opinion! Drinks: I tried the rose and mango lassi, and the Indian lemonade. These are their cooler refreshing drinks and they were all soooo good especially in the NYC heat. I also tried the masala chai which was excellent and I think would pair really well with the lacha Paratha! Service: Great service! The staff is super nice and very efficient/quick with orders! Ambiance: it's located inside of time out market so there's plenty of seating and it's casual!
Timeout Market was the most recent food hall we tried when visiting NYC. After browsing the options, we knew we had to try this spot. We got: - Paneer Khurchan Bombay Frankie - Chole Tikki Both of them were fantastic. The Frankie was like an Indian taco. I love the texture of the paratha and the combination of flavors in the Chole Tikki were familiar to other chaat dishes I've had, perfectly wonderful. I wanted to try most of the menu, so I'd definitely come back.
