Story

The Christiana Fire Company is comprised of three firehouses, Company 3,Company 6, and Company 12.

Station 3 is located in the heart of Christiana Fire District centrally located. We operate twin Class "A" Engine / Heavy Rescue Seagrave machines. Our members respond to over 3,000 calls for service a year.

Mission

The mission of the Christiana Fire Company, Delaware, is to minimize the impact of fires, rescue incidents, disasters, an other emergency incidents to the citizens and persons that travel though or 36 square mile district and our neighboring fire/rescue districts.

Christiana Fire Company #3 transported me 8.7 miles from my home in Newark, DE to Christiana Hospital DE.  When calling 911 for assistance you cannot request a specific ambulance company for assistance.  Unfortunately for me Christiana Fire Co. #3 was dispatched but are not an in network provider per my insurance company and so only covered $192.60 towards the bill of $630.00.  Christiana Fire Co. #3 sent me a statement for the following charges; $550.00 Emergency Transport and $80.00 Ground Mileage Per Statute Mile.  They solicit donations every year so how does a Volunteer Fire Company justify such charges?
