The park is extremely small and cute. The dog park area needs some work! The grass was as high as my mini Maltese. He was in the jungle
Christie Scafale Park is named in honor a young lady who lost her life at the age of 17. Christie was an award winning athlete at her high school, captain of the high school varsity girls volleyball team, and a coach for the Cooper City Optimist Club. She also was a member of several high school clubs and a volunteer at Pembroke Pines General Hospital. On the night before Thanksgiving in 1988 Christie was on a ride at the Broward County Fair called Monster when the arm snapped off killing her. It was later learned that cracks in the arm were painted over to hide them. After Christie's death, state legislators attempted to reform ride inspections at traveling carnivals. In January of 1989, Cooper City renamed the 3 acre Timberlake Park after Christie. Located at the end of the street where she lived, it was the first park ever created in Cooper City in February of 1981. In July of 2018 Cooper City added a dog park with a large and small area. The dog park has fenced play areas, play equipment, benches, picnic tables, water fountains, and waste bag receptacles. In addition to the dog park there is also a paved walkway, sand volleyball court, basketball court, and playground. This is a great park to take your pups and kids to play. I enjoyed walking around and checking out the birds drawn to the water in the canal. Christie Scafale was an exceptional young lady who had her life cut short. I will leave you with her words "I see myself as a rainbow - full of color - brightening a rainy day with lots of joy. Trying to bring a smile about someone's face." What a nicer place this world would be if we all lived her words.
Beautiful open space with big trees for shade should you bring a picnic blanket. A playground, workout area, volleyball net, basketball court and dog park. A lovely space to come and play. Bring sunglasses or a hat on sunny days. Only 1 bench under a shade tree. Play equipment only partially covered. Really nice.
Kids favorite park with the biggest slide, it is called a dog park but it is clean & doesn’t stink as a dog at all, dog people walk their canines leashed and away from the playground, it’s spacious, has a nice roofed gym area, and adult playground on the other side where people play ball games, grass is lush and clean, only once we saw a pile of trash that wasn’t taken out for a few days but once neighbors complained about it on a FB group it was promptly cleaned up, so whoever manages this park is responsive. There is no restroom on premises, I’d take a star away for this as the size of the park requires a restroom, but I still leave five stars as it is my child’s favorite playground and the biggest slide you’ll find in the area.
Lots of open space a playground and a basketball court! They also have runs for dogs! The only downside is it seems to flood pretty easily there had been some rain and lots of puddles and the grass was flooded a bit too. So cone prepared if there has been rain!
Nice, clean safe doggie park with individual small and big dog section.
Cooper City has excellent parks, and they do a great job maintaining them. Playground: Kids playground area well maintained and it is a popular place. Dog-friendliness: Neighborhood dog park for little and big dogs separate areas. You can walk your dog around the walking paths. Locals are great. Please follow park rules and always supervise and pick up after your dog.
Very well maintained park. Good for families. Nice and clean basketball court and two fenced enclosures for small and medium size dogs. Both very clean and good size. Kids playground and overall friendly atmosphere.
Cute quiet park had everything from dog park to walking trail playground and workout area.
The cleanest, well-kept park I've been to. The dog park is wonderful as it's shaded by several trees and each section big/small dog has it's own water fountain and garden hose. There were even a small plastic pool left in each area if your pups like swimming! Great balance of amenities with a basketball court, volleyball sand pit, jungle gym, and exercise equipment.
