Love Aveda, but my hair cut was less than exciting, the blow dry/style was poorly done, and cost me over $70 with a tip. Not thrilled.

To start off, I wanted to say that I love my hair color. It's rare that an Aveda Salon leaves me completely unhappy with my hair cut/color. So in terms of getting a product that you're satisfied with, this place is worth it. On the other hand, I didn't enjoy my time there much. I have been going to Aveda salons since I was 14, and despite how spoiled that may sound, I have grown accustomed to their excellent services. This place fell short of my expectations. I felt that my hair was not conditioned thoroughly (and the coloring process hurts it quite a bit), the typical hand massage was lack luster and rushed, my hair color was done sloppily, leaving stains on my head and scalp, my hair cut was a little uneven, and the blowout was rushed and poorly executed. I walked out feeling extremely under appreciated after paying nearly $200 for a cut and color. More so, I have never had an Aveda salon ask for a tip. It was always included in the price. This place seemed to encourage it with a prompt on the ipad asking for a tip %. I left a tip because I love my color so much, but I know this will wash out much too soon and I know that I can't afford this kind of service every few months, so I am not sure that the money spent was worth it. The stylist wouldn't even leave me with a formula number like I asked although I've had Aveda stylists in the past do so. Nor did she warm up my tea after saying she would. While these are all minor offenses, and I understand what a crappy day feels like to a worker, a customer service professional should never leave her customers feeling so neglected and unwanted. That said, I will not be returning here. Overall, my attempt to treat myself to a great service failed. I feel that this salon can work on its customer appreciation given how much money we leave them.

Today I went in for balayage with Riane. I wanted it to look really natural; I have dark blonde hair and wanted it to look how it does naturally when it's summertime and she nailed it!
