We offer personalized learning at Chrysalis! Each student, K-12, has a curriculum designed for them. Pursue your interests on and off campus. Enjoy learning!
Chrysalis School has been serving students in Woodinville, Washington, for 32 years. We base our practices on research on child and brain development, emphasizing individuality and respect as fundamental to learning. Our students attend three to five days a week, with both group classes (12 students or less) and individual appointments as part of their personalized program. We now inhabit two campus—an elementary/middle school campus and a high school. We enroll approximately 200 students each year from kindergarten through twelfth grade, and have 60 teachers and staff that work with our students.
Chrysalis School embraces a unique philosophy for education. We believe that all students will experience success on their own terms, at their own pace, based upon an individually structured curriculum that takes into consideration a student's own strengths and preferences. We know that every individual has different physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs, respect those differences, and encourage students to identify their preferred learning style and take advantage of it.
Our ultimate goal is to allow children to discover who they are and grow into themselves. To do so they must be free to explore what's interesting and important to them and be given the respect and space allowed to do so. We want our graduates to enjoy learning, use their strengths to their advantage, find careers they enjoy, and live fulfilling lives. We believe learning is an enjoyable and personal process and that school should reflect that. When a student establishes strong relationships with mentor teachers, is allowed to learn in their preferred style, and is adequately challenged, learning is natural and enjoyable.
The results speak for themselves. Our SAT scores are higher than both the state and national averages. We graduate 30-80 students each year. We are proud of the many diverse paths that our graduates pursue, including four-year college, community college, technical schools, art schools, the workplace, the military, volunteer pursuits, and travel. Most importantly, we graduate lifelong learners!
Chrysalis students will engage in a course of study that meets the needs, interests, and abilities of individual students so that they will be successful, confident learners.
