It is a lovely spa that is completely unpretentious. Friendly staff and calming surroundings add to the experience. I just wish it had more hours of operation.

We rented the guest quarters for three days and received the full spa treatment. Everything was wonderful. The people are friendly and professional, the facilities are beautiful and well-maintained, and the studio apartment (with skylights and outdoor hot tub) made for a dream vacation. Located in a quiet and friendly town just 5 miles outside of Arcata. We spent the days hiking the redwoods and seeing the coastal towns, and were happy to come "home" to Chumayo. Highly recommended.

Relaxing, enjoyable and affordable. Super friendly staff. Go for a float. You will not regret it.

My wife and I stayed at Chumayo on part of our trip up the Northwest Coast. It was excellent! They have a small "apartment" above the spa which is where we spent two nights. It had all the amenities of a hotel plus a furnished kitchen. We got a couples massage, which was excellent. As guests, we had access to the private outdoor hot tub. The resort was also very private and quiet. Blue Lake is a great historic town as well. There's a cafe that serves coffee and breakfast across the street, a few galleries and art studios, a small theater and Mad River brewery. There's also a casino on the outskirts. Great experience! I hope we have the opportunity to visit from the Midwest again.
