Firstly, to the officers who decided they were going to pull me over and be rude, there's a special place down under for you. Secondly, I got a ticket for supposedly running either a light or a sign (the way they described the "violation" was hard to tell), and they got my vehicle's info wrong. I think they were just looking for someone to pull over that day.

I got a speeding ticket on an on-ramp, where the signs (official traffic control devices) indicate an immediate on-ramp from 12th street. I saw the signs with 2 diagonal arrows indicating an immediate on-ramp, got over, and started to gauge my speed according to that of the highway traffic (to fluidly merge). I realized the point where my lane met the highway was pretty far away, so I started to back off of the speed a little. It was too late, of course, as there was an officer of speed waiting for a victim to treat this exactly as I had..(from 200 yards away!) He was posted right by another incorrect sign (Official traffic control device), indicating there's an on-ramp ahead, when, in fact, this was the point where the highway meets the on-ramp lane! The signs (Official traffic control devices) were decieving! The officer even admitted in court that, in his opinion, the sign indicated an on-ramp ahead, insinuating my interpretation of the first sign to be correct; meaning the first sign and the second sign are in each other's place. Are they intentionally misleading people to increase revenue? If you want to look at it neutrally, maybe they accidentally put them in the wrong place after the last tornado... -If it's intentional, it's wrong to set up American citizens to fail, especially for profit. -If it's accidental, the signs should be put in their respective places, to prevent misleading Citizens, especially those who do not frequently travel this area. I would just like to close by saying, I have driven somewhere between 750,000 and 1,000,000 miles in my life, so far. I've been in 2 accidents. One, about a year after recieving my motorcycle license, when I was almost 16. (I got my license at 14 and 1/2). It was deemed the other driver's fault. Case settled. The other was a couple years after that, during busy traffic on a 4 lane road. I was turning into a shopping center, my timing(in my motor) was off, causing a sputter, then I got t-boned. I was 17 or 18. I'm 28 now. I've driven professionally, in hundreds of different cars. I've driven in multiple other states, including ride-alongs with truck drivers in my family. There's a reason signs are generally the same. So everyone knows exactly what every sign means, how to proceed, and what to expect. I'm sure their importance is understood, because they are so ideally named "Official Traffic Control Devices".
