I picked up my dog and he had just been neutered, no one gave me any instructions or information. I had to ask how long until I could take the cone off. He clearly had worms in his stool and had not been treated for it. They don't seem to take very good care of the animals there. Took me 3 days to finally get ahold of anyone that works there because the Stockton PD answers phones for them. I took him to a vet and turns out he has kennel cough. When I contacted the shelter they said they were aware that when animals leave there they usually have kennel cough because that's something that has been at their shelter. It is completely irresponsible for them to let dogs be picked up and not treated for kennel cough as they get adopted. My dog came into contact with my parents dog so now she will also have to be treated. Kennel cough is highly contagious and god knows how many other animals have been infected.

Awesome place I rescued my Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Terrier in this pound and I have never been any happier than I ever had great people understanding people helpful they just want to give good homes to good dogs and cats

What I said before was about a different place. I'm sorry, the animal shelter is a great place to get a new pet for your family .they always need donations to keep helping the animals

I had heard terrible things about this place, but after having spent some time there to see for myself, this place is WELL run and everyone cares about the animals. It is the largest animal services center I have ever seen, OMG! They keep it well managed and very clean. They have enough volunteers who truly care about the center and the animals. They have a super huge laundry machine inside and they can do tons of laundry to keep things clean for the animals. I was very impressed. Great job!
