A notorious Ankeny breakfast join. I have been coming here since I was a kid. The Italian bacon breakfast sandwich is my go to. It never disappoints. The new management is doing pretty good. I really wish they would do some updating of the shop. Right now it feels like the decore is all over the place.

The service is extremely slow! After waiting over 20 minutes for a simple order and only 3 customers being there, the manager did not take a simple comment about the order taking so long constructively. Instead she insulted me! Very rude & distasteful! I would not recommend CJ's Bagel. The new management is terrible!

Great food and we'll staffed. Donuts here are good as well.

Service and overall taste of food has dropped in quality since the Java Joe's took over.  It's an alright spot for a plain or flavored bagel though.
