Story

Cindy and her family moved to Illinois in 1989 where she worked for a local income tax firm for 12 years. In 2014, she came full circle and again opened her own accounting practice in East Peoria, IL. This location has been very good for our practice, and we hope to remain in this area for many more years to come. CLA Income Tax, Accounting & Payroll Services opened for business January 1, 2014 by Cindy Allen, President of CLA. Cindy was born and raised in Waukesha, WI. She has an accounting degree from the University of Wisconsin with a minor in computers. Cindy started her business in 1987 in Albuquerque, NM where she began doing small business accounting and branched out to prepare income tax for those accounting clients. In 2006, Nate Downs joined our practice and serves as office manager. He also runs the payroll department and he also helps with individual tax preparation during tax season. Nate was born in Wisconsin, raised in New Mexico, and went to college while residing in Mississippi. Nate’s first love is theatre. He has directed and appeared in many shows at our local Corn Stock and Peoria Player theatres.
