We are a progressive, Open and Affirming Christian congregation whose focus is on being the agents for justice and peace that God envisions for creation. We invite you to explore the many opportunities present here for worship, fellowship, care, learning, and fun.

Mission

In response to God's creating, redeeming, and sustaining love, we unite for the worship of God and the service of all. We seek to know the will of God and to walk in God's ways, made known in Jesus Christ: to love one another, to proclaim the Gospel to all the world, to work and pray for peace and justice, and to live in harmony with all creation. We trust the presence of the Holy Spirit in trial and rejoicing and the promise of eternal life both now and for evermore. Amen!

We've come to the CUCC when our daughter and grandkids moved to Claremont. We're here on average once a month or so. Like others have shared, there is a welcoming atmosphere and the church seems to do a lot of community service and outreach. But what has impressed me the most when my wife and I have come to Sunday services is the preparation the pastors must put into their sermons. For me, it's great to hear the historical context of the Biblical passages presented in ways that a layperson can understand. Add to that, it is a beautiful church and they close with a solo from the organist on that amazing instrument.

I recently had conversations with several young people interested in joining the Claremont United Church of Christ (CUCC).  They all were enthusiastic about the warm welcome provided to visitors and regular church members at Sunday services and the spirit of openness for everyone who attends.  Several parents of young children, in particular, were complimentary of the church experience for their families.  I heartily recommend CUCC to anyone looking for a church that helps us live our faith in positive ways.
