This letter is written to alert people of Clark County Treasurer's Department, Nevada about how extraordinarily terrible and incompetent they are. Since it is impossible to get hold of them on the phone, I am going to briefly let other people know so they can be alert: We own 2 properties in Clark County. We always pay the taxes immediately for the entire year as soon as they are posted on the internet. We have done the same thing this year. One payment was done electronically with the parcel number of the property and was cashed in. The other property tax was mailed with a check including the entire sum again with the correct property parcel number on it. A few weeks after that I received a letter from Clark County returning my check without being cashed for "over payment". Of course we were perplexed and tried to call to correct their mistake . Phones are never answered. Then about 13 days ago we received a letter from them asking for "overdue property taxes " along with penalty. I have noticed that they have mixed up the 2 properties. Thus I wrote a letter explaining everything , asking them to correct their error and I included the previously returned check plus the difference and mailed via USPS Priority mail. Five days after they received it, they still did not deposit the payment and they even added more penalty. I have immediately made another payment via debit card which finally showed tax balance being zero. They even added another $23 plus for processing the debit payment. In the letter that I have sent I have asked them for an apology and refund any extra payments over and above the exact tax amount since they are in complete fault. If I do not hear from them, I am planning to contact the media as well as notification to the Governor Sandoval's office . In fact I might even take them to court for their incompetence. Government employees should be responsive to the decent people who pay their taxes on time and also pay their salaries. First of all, they need to have someone to answer a phone . Secondly they should acknowledge their own mistake, correct it, and apologize . They should never feel that they are God Almighty. Clark County residents, be warned and be alert when you deal with the treasurers Department.

Their website is broken and the automated phone system doesn't have the info I need. I can't find a person at all. Very frustrating.
