Story

We love the practice of law. It allows us to do what we do best: solve problems. We excelled at law school and thrived in big law firms like K&L Gates and Shearman & Sterling. We fought for and against big corporations, closed multi-billion dollar deals, merged software companies and settled complex litigation cases long before they were allowed to drain resources.

Then big law got too big. Common sense became buried in stacks of motions, logic lost in endless redlines and rational thought tested and teased by lawyers focused not on their clients, but on outwitting each other.

Not here. We eschew intricacies when facts beg for simplicity. Our job is to solve your problems, or better yet, prevent them. And we are committed to doing it brilliantly.

Mission

Our mission is simple, and maybe just a little lofty: to counter social, cultural and business divides with honesty, decency and integrity. Lawyers have been getting a bad rap since Shakespeare suggested that killing us all might lead to a happier existence. Unfortunately, these days we think he might have had a point! Rather than rising above the fray to help solve problems, lawyers are jumping in with both feet to add complexities – and billable hours – where they aren’t necessary. We started éClat Law to provide brilliant legal services simply and effectively so that our clients can focus on their work and ideas. There’s enough strife in the world. We are going to do what we can to prevent, counter and conquer pointless conflict. Because all of us have better things to do.
