Authorized patrons purchase items at cost plus a 5 percent surcharge, which covers the costs of building new commissaries and modernizing existing ones. Shoppers save an average of more than 30 percent on their purchases compared to commercial prices. The only thing negative I could say about this commissary is the produce section is very sad. Everything I have bought from that section goes bad extremely fast! Other than that, I would say it's a pretty convenient place to shop on post. They try to keep the lines down and they do prepare some things fresh there that are wonderful for a great price.

The produce are never fresh. They are always lowest grade. They look beat up. The atmosphere is just dry and cold. And not temperature wise either. It's not inviting. I wish they would make it an inviting and enjoyable place to shop. It's a drag shopping outside of tax-free. Now that's a good thing except I end up paying that with the ladies demanding or rather enforcing themselves to take my few bags. It's just okay to me.

The commissary's value is ok. They have certain things that are great to get there. The fruit is best gotten elsewhere. Meats are good to get here. Some things are cheaper at other places. They do have a huge couponing corner when you first walk in. They now have self check-out if you have under a certain number of items. The baggers work for tips in the regular lines and will take your groceries to your car. The case lot sales are great and they have them several times a yr. At those sales, one can stock up on drinks, detergent, snacks, etc. The price is generally cheap! In order to use the commissary, you must have a military id. There are two on post. This one is off of clear creek and across from the PX.

The commissary is large. There is a nice variety of meats. The produce isnt that great.
