Have contacted the Clinton Police Department twice in the past 30 days. The first time the Officer was friendly and very helpful...though it was regarding a computer crime beyond the technological resources of our local department and obviously he could not control that. The second time I spoke to the same Officer regarding a crime committed by a City of Clinton Employee. I clearly stated that I wanted to file a police report, the Oklahoma statute the employee violated, and showed the Officer documentary evidence. He said he would see what he could find out and do what he could. He came back a few minutes later with another Officer I took to be a supervisor, who explained to me the City employee's argument (that was inconsistent with County documents) and that they would not file a report or investigate. The first officer was at all times respectful and courteous, while the supervisor was confrontational and escalatory. No police report filed, city employee protected by city department, local crime statistics required to be submitted to criminal databases manipulated. If not for the professional manner of the first officer, I would give this Department only one star, but I really want to be supportive of our local law enforcement.
